T. Oliver Kopian spent his youth locked away in his parents suburban Long Island home creating a world of weird and wonderful characters. While other kids his age were out playing ball, he was busy thinking of new dragons and trolls to bring to life with whatever might be laying around. With knowledge gained from "how to" books on movie effects and make up, he began developing the patented Rubber Plush material he uses widely to this day.

With his mind set on a career in movie effects he devoted his high school summers to practicing his craft by creating larger than life creatures of all sorts to populate his annual Haunted House. During the mid 80’s, when Halloween was all but extinct, his spectacular attracted thousands of visitors from all over the tri state area. One visitor just happened to own a large gift company and saw the potential these characters could have on the market if only they were "soft and squishy". Kopian rose to the challenge, modifying what had been a mix of wire, papier mache, and rubber into a sort of latex mache with just some paper towels and liquid latex. This would become the basis for the now patented Rubber Plush®.

After a trip to Toy Fair in Ny and a stint in the front window of FAO Schwarz in Manhattan Kopian began creating creatures for people nationwide. He created prototypes for toys such as "WaterBabies" by Playmates, and his own line of toys was selling nationwide, including Disney parks and Universal Studios for whom he created lines of puppets based upon such movies as "Ghost Busters" and "ET the Extra Terrestrial".

In the mid 90’s came a world wide line of licensed merchandise and cartoon based on his characters. Creatures of Delight even appeared in Kelloggs Rice Crispies boxes through out Europe.

Currently Kopian concentrates on his hand made line of creatures which are available in top shops and galleries across the U.S.
